The Resiliency Award

The purpose of the Award is to assist graduate or graduates of any of the three high schools in Trinity County to attend a vocational school, college (two year or four year), technical school or institute, or graduate degree program.

A selection committee comprised of the Trinity County Chief Probation Officer, the Director of Trinity County Health & Human Services, the Superior Court Judges of Trinity County, and the President of the Trinity Scholarship Foundaton will review applications and select recipients of the Award.

The application for this award will be made available each January.

Primary Criteria

Students who:

a.) come from economically and/or socially disadvantaged backgrounds which have hindered the students’ opportunities to reach post-high school education or training.

b.) have affirmatively demonstrated desire and ability to overcome their disadvantages.  

Students who have been in foster care and/ or wards or dependents of the court are encouraged to apply and will be given full and fair consideration. Such information is not to be required on the written applications for the Award nor made known to the public.

Secondary Criteria

High school academic achievement, involvement in school and community activities, lack of availability of other financial sources, and a student’s long-term plan to return to Trinity County after completing her/his formal education are relevant factors, but not determinative.
