Endowments and Awards

  • Dean Addison Memorial Scholarship( est. 1992)

    Applicants must have been involved in school activities and maintained a GPA of 2.0 or above.

  • Ralph Beamer Memorial Scholarship (est. 2002)

    Awarded to a senior who has attended Trinity High no less than two years. The applicant must have demonstrated participation in FFA, either past or present, have a GPA of 2.5 or better, and plan to obtain a degree in agriculture, ag education or education.

  • Dr. Robert Breeden MD Memorial Scholarship (est. 1994)

    Preference for this scholarship will be given to a student that has an active interest in service within the medical profession and has a 3.0 or better grade point average.

  • Hugh and Gilda Brown Scholarship (est. 2014)

    Award given to a graduating senior of the Trinity Alps District who has attended at least two years. Student must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and intend to go to a vocational or trade school. Must have an active interest in self-improvement; be of good moral character, caring, considerate of others, hard-working, responsible and dependable.

  • Leone Irene Costa Scholarship (est. 2006)

    The recipient of this scholarship must have attended Trinity High School for at least one year and have a minimum GPA of 2.0.

  • Eleanor Driskell Music Scholarship (est. 2011)

    One award given to a student who has attended THS for at least two years, has a minimum 2.5 GPA, of good moral character, hardworking, responsible, reliable and dependable. Student must have a specific interest in music; otherwise a music interest and a career goal.

  • K.C. Forbes Memorial Scholarship (est. 2006)

    Awarded to a THS senior who is of good moral character, responsible and reliable, hardworking and considerate of others; or, to a THS graduate who has completed fifty-six(56)semester units, or equivalent units, and has maintained a grade point average of 2.75 or better. The applicant must plan to obtain a degree in education and/or speech therapy and have attended THS at least two years.

  • Kyle Fields Jepsen Memorial Scholarship

    This award will be given to a senior who is caring and considerate of others; has an active interest in self-improvement; and, has a GPA of 2.5 or better. Recipient must have attended Trinity High School no less than two years.

  • Thomas J. Ludden Leadership Scholarship

    This award will be given to a student who is amiable, diligent, has been an active participant in their high school class, athletics, clubs, student body leadership activities, and, has maintained a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

  • Adrienne Marceau-Thomas Scholarship (est. 1993)

    One award will go to a senior with a 2.0 or higher GPA and has demonstrated good citizenship.

  • Herbert and Frances Smith Day Memorial ( Est. 1989)

    Award will go to a senior with a 2.5 or higher GPA; has an interest in education/teaching and has demonstrated good citizenship.

  • George and Betty Files Memorial ( Est. 2021)

    Presented to a graduating senior who maintains a 2.0 GPA, has good citizenship, good moral character and participation in school activities. Preference will be given to a student showing financial need. The student will attend a technical school, a 2-year college or a 4-year college or university.

  • Bert and Ethel Hauerken Memorial (est. 2020)

  • Kyle Fields Jepsen Memorial Scholarship (est. 2003)

    This award will be given to a senior who is caring and considerate of others; has an active interest in self-improvement; and, has a GPA of 2.5 or better. Recipient must have attended Trinity High School no less than two years.

  • Dan and June Malloy Scholarship (est. 2021)

    Presented to a student who has maintained a 2.5 GPA, has good moral character, good citizenship and participated in school activities. This award will be presented to the child of an employee of Trinity Alps Unified School District. The parent can be employed in any school or capacity within the District. If there is not a graduating senior that qualifies for the award the Selection Committee can present the award to a Continuing Education Student if they meet the criteria

  • Stan Martin Memorial Scholarship ( Est. 1979)

    Verification from the yearbook advisor that the applicant has an interest and ability in journalism is required. Student must be majoring in language arts or communication.

  • Mary T. Meckel Memorial Scholarship (est. 1997)

    A scholarship awarded to a graduating THS senior who has maintained a “B” average or better, is of good moral character and citizenship, wishes/plans to attend a 4-year college and would be helped by financial assistance.

  • Leonard and Florence Morris Scholarship

    A scholarship for a senior who intends to enroll full time at a two or four-year college/university. Must have attended Trinity High School for a minimum of two years with a GPA of 2.5 or better. The student should be hard working, reliable/responsible, demonstrate good citizenship and character and have an active interest in history.

  • Jesse Murdock III- E Clampus Vitus Scholarship (est. 1985)

    One award will be given to a senior who has maintained a 2.5 or above GPA, plans to attend college, demonstrates financial need, has good moral character, and participates in campus activities. Student should know where they are going and is willing to work for it.

  • Marla Peckinpah-Schardin Memorial Scholarship

    This honor comes in recognition of the scholastic ability, citizenship, leadership and promise of future success.

  • Tracy Plew Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of THS or Alps View. Candidates must have above average academic standards. Preference will be given to students who express an interest in Performing Arts, Visual Arts and/or Writing. The scholarship is renewable upon completion of twenty-four (24) units if the recipient maintains full-time enrollment and a “C” average while in college.

  • Levi Poage Memorial Scholarship (est. 1979)

  • Lonnie Pool Memorial Scholarship (est. 1985)

    One scholarship is available for a student with an active interest in aviation – design, development, production, operation, or use of aircraft. The recipient should be hard working, reliable, and honest, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, and, have attended THS a minimum of two years.

  • Thelma Riordan Memorial Scholarship (est. 2007)

    Awarded to a THS senior who has attended THS no less than two years and has a minimum GPA of 2.0. Student must have been involved in volunteer service either in the community or at high school, be of good moral character, hardworking, responsible/reliable and dependable.

  • Norma Wilson Shu Memorial Scholarship (est. 1990)

    The recipient must be an English Honor student with a goal to obtain a degree in English. They should also have the highest marks in English during his/her four years in high school and have the recommendation of the English department.

  • Philip Stewart Memorial Scholarship (est. 1997)

    The recipient of this scholarship must have attended THS for at least 3 years and maintained a 3.0 GPA or better over seven semesters. Student must be an active participant in a full range of school activities with preference given to English, drama, basketball or track. The recipient should be a hard-working student of integrity who is respected by peers and teachers. The student should be someone who values group achievement more than individual achievement. A letter of recommendation from a staff member, which addresses the above characteristics, is required.

  • John Wayne Wallace (est. 2021)

    This honor comes in recognition of the scholastic ability, citizenship, leadership and promise of future success.

  • Adam Watson Memorial Scholarship (est. 2020)

    Presented to a graduating senior who maintains a 3.0 GPA, has good citizenship, good moral character, has participated in school activities and attended Trinity High School for at least two years. Preference will be given to a student who has played sports. The student plans on attending a technical school, a 2-year college or a 4-year college or university.

  • Ben Wellock & Melanie Wellock-Perry Memorial Scholarship (est. 2010)

    Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, involved in volunteer service, actively involved in 4-H/FFA in raising and exhibiting of livestock/animals, been involved in competitive high school sports, and, an active interest in classic vehicles (this is not required, however, could be a determining factor).

  • Weaverville Lions Club Carol Bethke Memorial Scholarship (est. 2018)

  • Shane Brookins Earthmoving Award

    Student must be enrolled in a Heavy Equipment Operator, Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic, and/ or heavy equipment technology program. Minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference given to students who have demonstrated a high level of self motivation and entrepreneurial spirit.

  • James Burgess Memorial Scholarship (est. 2019)

    Student must be planning on going into law enforcement with the minimum GPA of 2.5 or better.

  • Class of 1980 (est. 2021)

    Presented to a graduating senior who maintains a 2.0 GPA, has good citizenship, good moral character and participation in school activities. The student plans on attending a technical school, a 2-year college or a 4-year college or university.

  • Kyle Davis Memorial Scholarship (est. 2021)

    Presented to a graduating senior who maintains a 2.0 GPA, must have participated in wrestling for at least one year, has good moral character. The student will attend a technical school, a 2-year college or a 4-year college or university.

  • Sally Morris Memorial Scholarship (est. 2021)

    This honor comes in recognition of the scholastic ability, citizenship, leadership and promise of future success of a student who participated in Journalism or English while at Trinity High School.

  • Casey Jordan Memorial Scholarship (est. 2023)

    Given to a student with at least 3.0 GPA who intends to go into the nursing field. Preference will be given to a student based in financial need.

  • Carolyn Jane Sanders Memorial Scholarship (est. 2023)

    Started in memory of Carolyn Jane Sanders. Presented to a student who is a graduate of Trinity High School who plans to attend a higher education institution. Requires a minimum 3.0 GPA; participation in 4-H or FFA; shows School spirit (Cheerleader, ASB, Prep Rally Coordinator, etc.); Christian service and be involved in the community particularly the maintenance, beautification, and enjoyment of both Weaverville and the Trinity Alps.
