Continuing Education Scholarship Policy


Effective for 2024-2025 Applicants. Awarded in the following five areas:

  • Academic

    The student must be enrolled in an accredited school and have twenty-four units at the end of the school year. The student must minimally qualify as a sophomore student for the upcoming school year. The applicant can reapply for this award until they have finished their education with priority given to first time applicants. The student can be enrolled in either a Community College or a four-year college with the emphasis on obtaining a 4-year degree.

  • Community College

    The student must be enrolled in an accredited school and have  twenty-four units at the end of the school year. The student must minimally qualify as a sophomore student for the upcoming school year. The applicant can reapply for this award until they have finished their education with priority given to first time applicants. The student must be enrolled in a Community College with the emphasis on obtaining an AA degree or a Certificate based on specific program requirements.

  • Trade School

    The student must be enrolled in an accredited trade school. The student must show proof of completion of the equivalent of one school year completed. The student can reapply for this award until they have finished their program with the priority given to first time applicants.

  • Reentry Students

    The student can apply for a reentry scholarship after being out of high school or college for two years. This scholarship is to assist those students who were unable to attend a college or trade school right out of high school or had to leave college or trade school prior to finishing their program. The applicant can reapply for this award until they have finished their education with priority given to first time applicants.  The student must be accepted into an accredited trade school, community college or four-year program upon requesting the award.

  • Graduate Level Students

     The student can apply for an award upon entering or continuing in an accredited graduate level program. The student must show proof of completion of an undergraduate degree if applying for the first year of graduate school. In subsequent years, the student must provide transcripts indicating the completion of twelve units per semester for the previous year. If the student completes under twelve units, the award will be pro-rated based on the units taken.
